Die Kaapse ‘Omgee-roete’ ─ ‘n Reis na die hart van die Wes-Kaapse gemeenskappe

Hierdie roete het sy ontstaan gevind in die 2002 Spitsberaad vir Volhoubare Ontwikkeling (World Summit on Sustainable Development) en hierdie Kaapse inisiatief laat die kollig val op projekte waar die mense self na vore getree het om verantwoordelikheid te aanvaar en om ook verantwoordelik te wees vir die versorging van mekaar en die omgewing. Daar word geglo dat deur hierdie inisiatief volhoubare ontwikkeling op ‘n praktiese wyse bevorder word, terwyl besoekers se uitkyk verbreed kan word op ‘n wyse wat kan bydra tot die vereniging en bemagtiging van deelnemende gemeenskappe. Na ‘n evaluering deur die Kaapse plaaslike owerheid en die toerismeraad word meer as 25 projekte in hierdie toeriste roete ingesluit. Die roete strek oor die hele Kaapstad gebied en sluit projekte in op die Kaapse Vlakte en die Skiereiland.

Die toer sluit besoeke in na Khayelitsha, die grootste township in Kaapstad, waar groepe mans, vroue en jeugdiges hul eie huise bou, groentetuine bewerk, en op vernuftige wyse afval materiaal omskep in kontemporêre kuns en handwerk. Besoekers staan verstom oor wat gedoen kan word met ‘n leë Coca Cola blikkie en ‘n tang en hulle kan hierdie ontluikende entrepreneurs steun deur van hulle kunswerke te koop. Projekte in Khayelitsha sluit in Learn to Earn, Golden Flowers, Look Out Hill, Philani Nutrition and Development en Sibanye Economic Empowerment.

Besoekers sal ook ‘n vleiland gebied besoek wat bedreig was, maar deur gemeenskapsbetrokkenheid omskep is in ‘n Gemeenskap Natuurreservaat en wat soos ‘n oase in die stadsomgewing uitstaan. Die Edith Stevens Wetland Park is ‘n uitstekende voorbeeld van hoe samewerking tussen die owerheid, die sakeomgewing en gemeenskappe dien om te beskerm en die ryk biodiversiteit van Kaapstad te bevorder. ‘n Besoek aan die Kaapse Skiereiland Nasionale Park wys hoe indringer plante uitgeroei is om waterverbruik te verminder en inheemse plantsoorte te laat gedy.

Ander projekte op die roete is die BEN Fietswerkswinkel in Masiphuelele, die Lwandle Trekarbeid Museum, die Suider-Afrikaanse Stigting vir die bewaring van Kusvoëls in Rietvlei, Selfhelp Manenberg, Solole Wildreservaat in Kommetjie, Spier in Stellenbosch en die Mxenga Behuisingsprojek in Nyanga.

Die Kaapse ‘Omgee-roete’ bied aan besoekers ‘n geleentheid om te deel in die ervaring van gewone mense wat uitstyg bo slegte omstandighede ─ met verstommende resultate.

2. Organizer Payouts

All event organizers will receive payouts on a monthly basis. Payouts will include the total revenue from ticket sales, minus the applicable platform service fees. Organizers are responsible for ensuring that their payout details are accurate and up to date in their account settings.

3. Compliance

Event submissions must comply with all applicable local laws and regulations. We reserve the right to reject or remove any event that violates our community standards or legal policies.
